Squad Goals

Squad goals is a story I though of around 2009. I took for inspiration a story written by my best friend Zoe back when we were in middle school. Yeah, I know, this was a long ass time ago. And trust me on this, most of you might not have been born.... Ok, I'm obviously kidding, I'm not that old.

Zoe's story was based on our group of girlfriends. There were four of us: Zoe, Ella, Kate and I. *

I've based my four babies after those four people.

Isabella, Blair, Taylor and Veronica are all so different. Nobody at school really understands why or how they ended up as friends. From the outside, it looks as if you're at a self serve soda machine mixing all flavors of soda together. So lousy. But once you get to know them you understand why: they complement each other.

 

Isabella Cartwrite... So driven. So fearless. So confident. So, well, everything. Honestly, anyone would rather get hit by a bus than getting on her bad side. 

Blair Williams... Does she care? Nobody really knows. Don't let yourself get fooled by her sarcasm and non-challant attitude. She actually does care. She actually does feel.

Taylor Stuart... Who is this person? Have you even heard her speak? Probably not. You might not think much about the girl who sits in the shadows of her other friends, but she really does have a heart of gold. 

Veronica Biels... I'd ask her if she cares but we all know she doesn't. She really, truly doesn't. She doesn't need to pretend, she doesn't need to make excuses. She is straightforward and simple. Or at least she used to be.

For these girls Freshmen year wasn't supposed to be anything special. This is the year they became the squad.

I thought it'd be fun to write this story from the four perspectives, alternating from one to the other as chapters go by. I think it might be interesting to develop their very different personalities like that, also because it'd be more challenging for me, since I have no experience with writing. But how do you gain experience if you do nothing? So here I am. Trying.

So why are this girls even friends? I don't know. You should read into my new project to find out. I really hope you like this.
